Scott Ghere, DO, Physician
Dr. Scott Ghere is a board-certified family medicine physician at Primary Health Partners Jenks. If there is one thing that defines the way he practices medicine, it is this: he takes the time to make sure your health actually makes sense to you.
A Tulsa native and OSU Center for Health Sciences graduate, Dr. Ghere completed his family medicine residency at OSU in Tulsa in 2008 and has spent his career caring for the community he calls home. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Dr. Ghere’s greatest clinical passion is caring for patients with chronic conditions including diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. He sees these conditions every day, and over the years has developed a deep expertise in helping patients not just manage them, but actually improve. Many of his patients arrive feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. They have been trying, but they are not making progress, and they are not sure why. Dr. Ghere’s approach is to slow everything down. Walk through it step by step. Make sure the patient understands what is happening, why it matters, and what a realistic path forward looks like, then take that path together.
“My job is to make your health make sense — because if it doesn’t, it’s not a good plan.”
That philosophy extends to every aspect of how he practices. He believes healthcare works best when the focus stays on the patient, not on financial pressures or time constraints. Patients do better when they have time, access, and clear communication. When they feel genuinely heard. When they leave an appointment not just with instructions, but with understanding. That is what led Dr. Ghere to Direct Primary Care and to Primary Health Partners. After years in larger clinic systems where the pace left little room for the kind of care he believed patients deserved, he found in DPC a model that finally matched his values.
The results speak for themselves. Patients who once felt out of control of their health begin to understand it. Patients who came in overwhelmed leave with a plan and the confidence to follow it.
One patient, a 32-year-old newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, came in anxious and unsure where to begin. Within three months of weekly follow-ups, a clear step-by-step plan, and consistent support, he had his blood sugar under control, lost weight, improved his eating habits, and lowered his blood pressure. What stood out most was not the numbers, it was his confidence. Once he understood the process, he was able to take ownership of his health.
That is the outcome Dr. Ghere works toward with every patient, every visit.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ghere is married to Amy and is the proud dad of two children, Conner and Andie, and two Boston terriers, Buster and Belle. His extended family lives nearby, and he currently helps care for his mother at home with a responsibility he values deeply and one that has only deepened his understanding of what patients and families go through. His hobbies range from golf and pickleball to restoring old firearms, making coin rings, skeet and trap shooting, and Mahjong. He also once sang in a choir that performed at the Agricultural World’s Fair in China, which might be the most unexpected fact patients tend to remember!
Tulsa is home. Dr. Ghere truly cares for this community, for patients he has known for years, through conditions that ebb and flow, through the moments that matter most, and is exactly where he is meant to be.
