Well, friends, I have a confession to make. I broke my own rule and checked my weight today. I know I should have been stronger, but I was feeling confident. Turns out, I am down 14 pounds!

The good thing about eating low carb is that I do not have to feel starved throughout the day. I do have to sacrifice some of the foods I love but I’ve hit my stride. I’m feeling less tempted by my cravings.

It’s common to have anxiety that all of your sacrifices won’t lead to results. Every time I step on the scale I’m worried it will be exactly the same as when I started. That’s why we have to have confidence and celebrate our disciplines.

Time to breakdown my meals:

  • Breakfast:
  • three fried eggs, over medium with six slices of bacon.
  • Lunch:
  • Pulled pork and green beans
  • Supper:
  • Two hamburger patties with a few grilled onions
  • Snack:
  • Small Salad.

Some people complain that it is hard to diet while working a busy schedule, because eating out is so convenient. I have found that finding sources of protein and fat can be done almost anywhere. Focusing on high-protein and watching out for carbs can be done whether you’re preparing a meal at home or out to eat. Half of the battle of nutrition is learning which foods are good and which are not. Sometimes even “healthy food” can be deceivingly bad for you.

One way that I keep myself motivated is to pick out a pair of pants that does not quite fit me, and to recheck the sizing from time to time. When I am able to fasten them, I have a clear sign of weight loss regardless of what the scale says.

So, I invite you, if you haven’t taken the first step toward weight loss, it’s never too late. Jump on the Bandwagon and let’s go!
